I am very happy to read the history of this great ACARIYA belong to Bharamin community. Karnadatka Bramins are neglected in the state of kerala. So hard work is required to union all KARNADAKA bramins irrespective of the sub caste like Hayvika, Hebar, Koota etc And persons following the ADVIDHA of Sankarachariya and MADVACHRIYA should be united and hard work for the progress of the community.

Yes, you are right that the above picture of Acharyaru is not as per shilpa shaastra. We just randomly used all the pictures of Acharya available to us online.

Padmashree vidya vaachaspati Shree Bannanje Govindacharya has heavily criticized this particular picture of shreemad aachaaryaru displayed above on this page. He has stated that this is a picture of some braahmaNa who was attending a shraaddha bhOjana… unwilling to do “mukhaavalOkana of bhaktas and shishyas”. He further states that any person with the slightest knowledge of iconography (perhaps called shilpa shaastra) will not worship using the above picture. He has also heavily criticized shree ravi varma’s paintings as they are not iconographically accurate.

shree bannanje refers repeatedly to the moorthy of shreemad aachaaryaru in uDupi… perhaps as depicted in the verses “bhujaga bhOgaabham udyamya hRudyam nijabhujam lakShaNaaDhyam, laLitam udrikta vijynaanamudram bhaja bhaja anantam ityaalapantam, praNatavaan praaNinaam praaNabhootam praNatibhi: preeNayE poorNabodham”.

I have stopped worship of shreemad aachaaryaru using the above icon.
